Jon Estes - Teaching Pastor

Jon was born just outside of Erie, PA and grew up in the small country towns of Western NY. He pursued a degree in Music Education from Cedarville University and served during the summers at Twin Lakes Camp in Hillsboro, IN. While serving as a summer counselor, Jon sensed a heavy burden for the ministry of the Gospel. He surrendered to the calling of God on his life and went straight into the ministry following college. He has served on staff at churches in Central Indiana (2003-2004), Southern Ohio (2004-2008), and south metro Atlanta (2008-2019), before joining First Baptist Church of Kenova in October of 2019. He is currently pursuing a M. Div. in Preaching & Pastoral Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jon's deepest passion in life is to preach the Word and personally invest in making disciples who make disciples!

Jon married the love of his life, Brandi, in South Point, Ohio in 2005 and God has richly blessed them with four children: Jadon Anaiah (2010), Josiah Alan (2011), Jeremiah Asher (2013) and Lillian Grace (2016).

Nick Windisch - Collegiate Minister

Nick grew up in the south metro Atlanta area. For the majority of his life he has been bi-vocational and has worked for Chick-fil-a but the Lord continued to lead and direct him to give himself exclusively to full-time ministry to build up and equip the church.  He is married to his wife Melissa and together they have three children (Abigail, Lydia, and Benjamin).

Nick and Melissa have always had a great concern for the college students in particular because they learned through their own experiences that it is an important time so they look forward to being able to walk alongside them.  It is a season where young adults are becoming more independent and making crucial decisions about faith and life.  They are so thrilled to join the team at First Baptist of Kenova and Legacy Church Huntington as they seek to impact college students in the Tri-State area.

Madisyn Boswell - Assistant Children's Director

Madisyn was born in Point Pleasant, West Virginia and remained there through her high school career. After graduating in 2017, Madisyn relocated to Huntington, West Virginia to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in K-6 Elementary Education. Though Madisyn didn’t pursue a personal relationship with the Lord for many years in her adolescence, she ultimately began to follow after God’s will for her life by her senior year of high school. Madisyn began attending First Baptist Church of Kenova in the fall of 2017 where she began to feel burdened over going into full-time ministry. During her junior year of college (Fall 2019-Spring 2020), Madisyn served at First Baptist Church of Kenova as a Collegiate/Children’s Ministry intern.

Madisyn has always loved teaching and working with children. She feels a heavy burden to both equip leaders in the church to love on and expose children to the Gospel, and to come alongside parents and families in the church to train up their children according to Truth found in God’s Word. She feels blessed to be able to see how the Lord is working in the Huntington area, as well as at Legacy Church of Huntington. Her deepest desire is to see children and their families learn about and know God personally, and to see hearts of all ages transformed by God’s Grace and His gift of salvation.

Hunter Bellomy - Student Ministry Intern

Hunter grew up in Kenova and graduated from Spring Valley High School. He's a student intern that works with all ages in the Garage Student Ministries. He knew a lot about God growing up and was a fan of Jesus but hadn’t trusted in Him until his sophomore year and that’s when he became a follower of Jesus. He has a passion to see young people trust in Jesus and to be Jesus to the community around them. His desire is to see more followers than we do fans.
